Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://www.mica.wtf/tofr/transfer-of-funds-regulation/chapter-i-general-provisions/article-1-subject-matter.md). # Article 1 — Subject matter This Regulation lays down rules on the information on [payers](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/payer) and [payees](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/payee) accompanying transfers of [funds](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/funds), in any currency, and on the information on [originators](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/originator) and [beneficiaries](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/beneficiary) accompanying transfers of [crypto-assets](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/crypto-asset), for the purposes of preventing, detecting and investigating [money laundering](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/money-laundering) and [terrorist financing](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/terrorist-financing), where at least one of the [payment service providers](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/payment-service-provider) or [crypto-asset service providers](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/crypto-asset-service-provider) involved in the [transfer of funds](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/transfer-of-funds) or [transfer of crypto-assets](https://www.mica.wtf/definitions/definitions/tofr/transfer-of-crypto-assets) is established or has its registered office, as applicable, in the Union. In addition, this Regulation lays down rules on internal policies, procedures and controls to ensure implementation of restrictive measures where at least one of the payment service providers or crypto-asset service providers involved in the transfer of funds or transfer of crypto-assets is established or has its registered office, as applicable, in the Union. --- # Agent Instructions This documentation is published with GitBook.
