Chapter V handles the three "supporting" topics that make the Travel Rule workable:

* **Provision of information** to AML authorities ([Art. 24](/tofr/transfer-of-funds-regulation/chapter-v-information-data-protection-record-retention/article-24-provision-of-information.md)).
* **Data protection** — GDPR compliance and prohibition of commercial reuse ([Art. 25](/tofr/transfer-of-funds-regulation/chapter-v-information-data-protection-record-retention/article-25-data-protection.md)).
* **Record retention** — five-year baseline with conditional five-year extension ([Art. 26](/tofr/transfer-of-funds-regulation/chapter-v-information-data-protection-record-retention/article-26-record-retention.md)).
* **Cooperation among competent authorities**, with cross-border information exchange routed through [AMLD5](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX:32015L0849) ([Art. 27](/tofr/transfer-of-funds-regulation/chapter-v-information-data-protection-record-retention/article-27-cooperation-among-competent-authorities.md)).
